Aims and Objectives

 

To increase keyboarding speed to a minimum of 50 wpm by the end of the course.
 
The flexibility and value of self-study course designed to enable you to work at your own pace.
 
A personalised workbook to use as a reference guide on completion of the course.

Target Audience

 

Secretaries and other individuals for whom typing is a major part of their job function.

Prerequisites

 

Ability to touch-type at around 35 wpm. Ideally students should have completed the Faster Keyboarding Part 1 on-line course

Course content

 

  • Lesson 6: Speed development exercises; calculating typing speed; keying in at 35-40 wpm; punctuation rules.

  • Lesson 7: Speed development exercises; correcting errors; keying in at 40-45 wpm; business memo layout.

  • Lesson 8: Speed development exercises; business letter layout; preparing the agenda for a meeting; keying in at 45-50 wpm.

  • Lesson 9: Speed development exercises; practising using all the alphabetical keys; keying in at 50-55 wpm; keying in at a steady pace.

  • Lesson 10: Speed development exercises; changing the display from single to double line spacing; changing the display from double to single line spacing; keying in at 55-60 wpm.
